We built this practice because patients deserved better.

Hearing & Balance Specialists of Kansas City was founded by audiologists who had grown frustrated by a healthcare model that prioritized profit over patients. They wanted to build something different: a clinician-owned practice where the standard of care is set by the people responsible for it.

That meant building a team of specialists who go deep.

Audiologists who receive referrals from other audiologists. Specialists who handle the cases most practices aren't equipped to evaluate. And a physical therapist on-site, because sometimes getting better literally means getting back on your feet.

We also serve patients with straightforward hearing concerns like routine hearing tests, hearing aid evaluations, and annual monitoring. These kinds of patients are the core of what we do. The difference is that when something complex comes up, we don't have to refer out, because we handle the specialty cases here, too.

What Makes Us Different

Clinician-owned and independent

No corporate office setting protocols. The founders are also the doctors in the rooms, and they are directly accountable to every patient.

A full clinical team under one roof

Audiology, physical therapy, neuropsychology, and speech-language pathology, all working together to provide comprehensive care.

Active in research, publishing, and doctoral training

We're held to an academic standard of care, not a sales standard.

No Hidden Fees

No bundled pricing. Just transparent care.

Unlike many corporate hearing aid providers, we use an unbundled pricing model. What's “unbundled?” It means you don't get stuck paying for expensive services you don't or won't need. Pay just for the hearing aids and any services you actually do need. With no hidden fees built into the device price, we can offer the most affordable, quality solutions around. We also offer CareCredit financing options to help make care even more accessible.
