You can hear just fine. But understanding what you hear is a different story.
Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) is a neurological condition that affects the brain's ability to process what it hears. People with APD typically have normal hearing test results but struggle to understand speech, follow oral instructions, or make sense of sound in noisy environments.
APD is often misunderstood and frequently missed. We're one of a small number of practices in the region with the specialized training and diagnostic tools to properly evaluate and treat APD in both children and adults.

Who It Affects & How We Help
Who It Affects
APD is estimated to affect 5% of school-aged children, but it also occurs in adults. It may be present alongside ADHD, language delays, or learning difficulties, making diagnosis more complex. Untreated, APD can affect academic performance, work, and quality of life.
How We Help
After a comprehensive evaluation, we build an individualized therapy program targeting each patient's specific auditory deficits. Our goal is to rewire auditory processing skills to make listening more effortless, effective, and less exhausting.
